OEM head-unit serial number incorrect?
I was trying to get my radio code. I have the head unit removed, look at the sticker, and give honda the serial number, and theyre telling me it doesn't even look like the correct format... wtf. Theyre saying it should be 8 digits, no letters.
I am literally reading the serial number the manufacturer's sticker.
Anyone have a serial number look similar to mine?
Not really sure what to do, can't do the 1-6 method as I have a totally different unit in the car.
Does this seem incorrect? CLJCGA540012293

The serial number would be a truncated version of the number you see on the sticker. In your case it would be 40012293 I believe.
Input the required information into that website and it will spit out several codes to try. One of them will work.

I know it's a terrible HU. Haven't had it installed in years. I'm selling it though as I'm trying to do a bit of spring cleaning. Figure someone might want the OEM unit.
I had the JVC kd-nx500 for years but just recently upgraded to the alpine cde-hd149bt. 10" JL sub in the back in that lower tool area with a custom s2000 box. As well as rear speakers behind the seats.
Focal component speakers in the front, focal coax speakers in the back. DLS Reference Amp for the front, Focal amp for the back, JL amp for the sub. Sounds amazing! Adding rear speakers made a massive difference compared to just speaker and head unit upgrade. Sound stage is so much better and more even throughout the cabin.

Thanks jwzimm, I tried that tool but it was giving me errors, let me try with the truncated version. I appreciate it

It spit out 21 codes, so I guess that's better than nothing...
Serial Number: 40012293
