OEM Honda Subwoofer ...
I am talking about after market. I don't like the sound of a sub in the trunk not ported into the cabin. It just sounds like ghetto bass. By using the tire space and build a box to fit the space you can then port it into the cabin via the vent in the panel behind the seat.
I have also tried the rear 4" speakers in these same panels and it does not sound good. Since they are down between the back of the hard seat and the hard cabin back there is way too much midrange. It might be possible to correct this with an Audio Control trunk EQ.

If you put any sub in the trunk, you can always remove the well panel under where the top folds, or at least port or vent that panel.
As for Bazooza type bass tubes, some work some dont, adn it depend on the car and space it sits in. Works well to ok in a hatchback, but usually not enough for a trunk box.

I installed a bazooka tube in my car about a month ago. It's an 8 inch, 150 watt self-amplified tube. There is way more than enough bass. There isn't any problem with hearing it at all. I have only turned the amp up about half way because it vibrates the shit out of the car to put out any more bass. The bass isn't as clean or precise as a normal 12 in a sealed box...but it isn't bad. Besides, in a convertible, your sound quality is going to be degraded anyways due to all the road and wind noise. I would definitely recomend it though.
