Took my CR out tonight and passed 1,000 miles finally. This is easily the slowest car I've had to reach the 1,000 mile mark. My first evo took only 2 days.

I'm really itching for autocross season to start so I can go play with this car. I think this car is going to be a lot of fun.
What's this autocross season thing you speak of??

65 and overcast, perfect weather in SoCal.....

Are you going to run a baffled oil pan on your CR for autocross? Is that even legal in your class? I've heard more than a few folks talk about oiling issues in high side load, constant high RPM, low speed situations.

Does anyone here have 1st hand experience with this?

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure a baffled oil pan is not legal in stock class. An accusump is though and I would probably install an accusump if I hear of people having problems.

Most cars don't have a problem until you install r-compounds.

i know of many many higher mileage autocrosses regularly s2k's, and i have yet to hear about an engine failure related to engine starvation.

Issues I've heard/read about don't claim failures so much as the engine simply not going into VTEC due to lack of oil pressure under certain circumstances. If this indeed happens, I'm sure it's a function of the Honda designed safety mechanism that deliberately does not allow VTEC if oil pressure is low. I don't think I've heard of any engine "failures".

Are they sure it's oil pressure and not fuel starvation mine will fuel starve with over 1/2 a tank of gas.

Well, only oil PSI would trigger the VTEC cut off but fuel starvation might feel very similar in the car. I'll just have to see if my car exhibits either behavior.

i have hit the fuel starve quite a few times. the car just falls flat on it's face. first time it happened, i thought i hit the key with my knee. few things on the s2k are retarded, and this is one of those things.
