Whoa, do Carbotechs spark when you brake hard? I use either XP10s or RPD2s in the front and XP8s in the back and never thought about this...

With the suction cup mount on the side windows, you can adjust the view up and down at will by moving the window. Rarely useful but keeps things interesting.
I'm not sure if you're talking about using this at any specific events, but I've never been to a track event where windows were not required to be down at all times.

Just got my GoPro as an anniversary gift on Thursday. Love the camera. This was on the r5 setting with a DIY windscreen. Not my fastest run of the day but the most fun to watch. All of the runs are on my channel.

I didn't have much time to watch the actual driving, I just clicked through to see if the camera mount moved. The sound was good on that I thought, but the camera spot wasn't. There was too much in the shot that didn't move, and the windshield bar + rear view blocked a good amount of the road view. I'd definitely either move it to the secret compartment (if you don't have a suction mount) of the inside of the windshield if you did.

I somewhat agree that too much of the shot was blocked, but at the same time i was looking to capture driver involvement. I do have the suction cup and made this video last weekend. Sound was bad so i had to add some tunes.

What metering mode do you use when the cam is mounted inside the car: center or spot? My videos are always overexposed.

I've been using my GoPro for a few years now and I love it. Here's a short clip I made earlier this year of some of our S2000 crew from Brisbane. In this video, I have my GoPro recording in R5 mode, and mounted on the front fender behind the wheel and also at the bottom of the front bar.

Luckily I've never lost my GoPro when mounted on the outside, but in the same cruise as the video above, one of the other guys lost his GoPro when he had it mounted on the bonnet (or hood in North American speak ).
