I find myself driving along and seeing a roadster approachng from the opposite direction. Is it an S2K? , Is it an S2K? , Is it an S2K?
No, it is almost always a Miata, a Porche, a BMW, or some other imposter. Almost always

I have only seen two on the road since buying mine two months ago, sad.

The only cars that I sometimes mistake for an S2000 from a distance are the newest Miatas since their front end looks like they ripped off Honda's design. The rest look different enough that I can usually pick them out.

Yes, the newest Miatas sometimes get me hopeful for a while, then letdown.

BTW, I used to own a Miata, but don't tell anyone.

It makes you sad that you don't see it?

Quite honestly, I'm GLAD that I hardly ever see one. Sure, it's great when that distant glimmer turns out to be a person with good taste (and thus an S2000), but it would lose a lot of the appeal if you saw them all the time

Most the BMW verts I've passed have acted like douches. Most of the Miatas have straight up ignored me, although I'm willing to give a nod. I've seen ONE S2000 since I bought mine 2 weeks ago, despite putting 1200 miles on it so far and he waved. Last weekend saw an Eclipse convertible (the ugly ones), which waved, and I happily waved back. Pretty awesome they waved -- I think I'd feel like sinking down into my seat if I had one.

I recently sped up and cut someone off like an asshole to catch up to an S2000 so I could wave... when I got there I realized it was a Miata-- felt like a douchebag.

Wow, only seen two? There are three in my apartment complex. Including the exact same 06 Suzuka as mine.

I just want to see what one looks like on the road.

2Kaputnik,

The guy 4 doors up the street has the same car as me, but his is always parked in the driveway. I never get to see it in action.

I saw one yesterday morning on the way to work, it had nice wheels and a hard top.

Since buying it in March of this year, i've seen about 20 while driving mine and that was the first one who actually looked over and gave a nod. The rest just ignored...sad.

Exactly, I give up getting excited anymore because they never wave back , I think I've had one s2000 owner wave, rather disappointing for what I would expect to be a close knit group of owners.

I see them often during the summer months, and only about half of them wave back or blink their lights. As much as we'd love to think every owner is a true enthusiast and close knit, the fact is, it's not the case. There's a lot S owners who don't have the true enthusiasm. I've met and talked to two this summer, and they certainly aren't on this site, and really didn't have much to say. It was like a Civic owner talking to another Civic owner. Sad, but true.
