Default ohh yay another intake question

well i have decided on one of these... researched and couldn't find a technical difference in-between the two... so i am asking here... what are the main differences, gains, dyno plots, and opinions on the two... thanks!

the v1 is all 3 inch tubing, and the v2 after the first bend goes to 4 inches i belive, and with the larger chamber there are some sound frequencies which i guess charge the cylinders with the air. the difference between the two performance wise is minimal +- 0-2 hp something like that. Also i would assume the v2 would have a louder, more agressive sound. I bought the v1, and put the extra money towards an air bypass valve.

v2 filter is angled so if you get a v2, make sure you plug the hole in your engine bay to avoid water leaking onto the filter and into the piping. v2 is def louder

I don't think the v2 is 4inch tubing...maybe it is. But either way, yes, V1 is all 3in tubing. V2 is smaller then the V1 on the top part that connects to the TB so I'd guess 2.5" and then bigger on the second part, maybe 3.25"-3.5" but I really don't know as I've never owned one.

I have the V1, less risk with hydrolock as it is not as angled as the V2. And I doubt any power gains would be different among the two as power gains are minimal as it is. So I'd assume that gains are the same. However intake resonace frequencies will be different which will create different areas of torque spikes. With my V1 I have torque spikes at around 3000-3200rpm and 6000-6200rpm and probably 9000-9200rpm. But I wouldn't know on the later. With the V2, those will be different. These little spikes aren't much, but they do bring an extra 10ft/lbs or so of torque to the table which you can feel.

Anyway, I like the V1, but thats just personal preference

i know what you mean... but i have done research on the whole plugging the drain... i know that when it rains, rain travels through channels designed on the car to drop out freely... but where this channel is and how to block it still has me stumped... would it mess anything up to block up the channel?

= and thank you all for the responses... please keep them coming

Look inside the V2, its not the abrubt diameter difference they claim in ads and that you'd assume by looking at it from the outside. I am pretty sure that was just a marketing ploy because the intake is smooth and tapered on the inside. People who have switched to a V2 from a V1 claim to feel and improvement though.
