Default oil change= VTEC change?

just got my first oil change...
the VTEC is not as pronounced- seems like power is more evenly distributed. not as much of a 6k kick.
i checked the oil this morning and it is full.
anyone else have this happen?
any ideas why?
i want my old VTEC back!!

wanabe,

If you find out, can you post a link to the thread you find the info in? I tried searching with no luck...

WANABE,

If I remember correctly, didn't we purchase our cars about the same time? I have about 28k miles and have gone through 3 sets of tires and performed 7 oil changes...

WOW!!

Hi Wannabe

When my S2000 had about 3.7K miles I changed to Mobil 1, 10W30. Power output decreased noticeably, VTEC - lost its hilarious ferocity. Changed back to dino juice and the car was much quicker. I have used Mobil 1 on all my cars since they first offered it for sale. I don't know why it had such a bad effect on my car. Others have reported no problems with Mobil 1.

So, it could be Synthetic oil causing the problem? I don't have performance problem, but since my first oilchage to Castrol 5w-50, car has gotten a lot quieter in Vtec. may be I should try regular oil next time... thanks for the information.

cheers,
