Is there any reason to get an oil change at the dealership? I'm facing my first change and figured it would be a lot more convenient to go to Jiffy Lube.

The best option is to do it yourself - but being an apartment dweller, it would be a big hassle!

Frank, a lot of guys are afraid to let some high school drop-out mechanic touch their car, including me. I've heard too many horror stories first hand... Do it yourself or take it to a reputable Honda dealership. It's not worth the risk.

My Sister took her Miata to Jiffy Lube a while back...dummy's forgot to put the drain bolt washer back on. All of the oil ended up on the garage floor. My first failed to notice this, as well as the zero reading on the oil pressure gauge and drove the car about 20 miles...when she finally noticed the temp gauge go throught the roof she pulled into a Mazda dealer and they filled up the oil and replaced the washer. I still cannot believe it did no damage (that we know of) to the engine...Tough little Car.

Anyway do not go to Jiffy Lube with your stook...it is too nice for that.

Oil changed at "Quaker State" in Sarasota, FL. on vacation.
Oil cap discovered missing two weeks later while in Louisiana.
Fortunately this was just my truck. I wouldn't let anyone at a "Jiffy Lube" get near my S2000.

thanks for the thoughts guys. Now that I think about it, you guys are right in the type of kids that usually work there. Didn't really think about it taking my Sentra there.

I guess it's time to make an appointment at the dealer.
