Mine used half a quart before its first oil change at 3500 miles and about a quart before its second change at 7500 miles. Because the local Honda dealer did the first change and I didn't check the dipstick on a level surface for maybe a month, I suspect some of that quart was that the dealer underfilled it.

I'm now 2500 miles into the third oil fill (Mobil 1 10-30, done myself so I know the volume was right) and there has been no consumption.

Mine used 2 quarts in the first 4000 miles. The VTEC solenoid oil seal failed at some point and contributed to the consumption.

Never burned any oil in 7,000 miles, even though I basically ignored the break in period and did a little too much over 6000 rpms...

Did the failed oil seal make a leak of oil outside the engine noticeable?

I have 18K on my car and I have never put a drop of oil in it. Every time I check it is all the way to the top and very clean. I think I better knock on wood. I do not baby my car, I love VTEC and do not like to drive under 5K.

I change oil every 4000-4500 miles but I didn't have to add any extra oil. There are lots of factors that would affect your car oil consumption (driving hahits, weather, traffic conditions, VTEC, etc...) So every car is different.

i drive my car pretty hard (VTEC several times a day- drive high revs)... at 1000 miles noticed VTEC suffering- the board asked if i had checked the oil. i had not- was down between 1 and 2 quarts. added the oil and VTEC was fine.
