Oil Drops - Should I be concerned?
Hi Folks,
Well the S2000 is brand spanking new. It had 8 miles on it when I bought it and now has 90 from driving it back home. This morning, I noticed 2 oil drops on the garage floor. I looked under the car and noticed that oil was coming from the drain plug. I checked the plug for tightness... and it was fine. I checked the oil filter, the valve cover, and the dip stick and everything was a dry as a whistle. I wiped everything down with a rag and have not noticed anything since for the last 12+ hours (but I have not driven the car since I wiped it down). I checked the oil level and it is at the highest 'X' mark on the dip stick. This leads me to believe that Honda fills all these fluids from the bottom of the car and that this is just residual oil and lubicration burning/melting/dripping off due to drive back home from the dealership and the heat created by this drive causing all the residual fluids to burn/melt/drip off. Is this correct and should I be worried? Please let me know your thoughts/comments/suggestions.
Oh... I purchased a Rubbermaid box (fits perfectly into the trunk well) and put 3 quarts of Castrol GTX 10W30 and a funnel in there until the engine 'seals'.
Many thanks in advance... nico

Hi 2x6spds and others... do you think that this may be coming from the block. I verified that it was coming from the oil-drain plug/bolt. I checked it for tightness, and it was fine... so I am assuming that this was from the original oil fill-up or an oil change done at PDI? I could see no other source of leaks... it was surely coming from the drain bolt/plug.
What do you guys think?
Thanks greatly... nico
