Default Oil Level......too high?

I run Mobil 1 in my car and keep the oil level at the high mark. I will use a (5qt) jug and then top off with about a quarter to a half from another quart of M1. I just noticed in the owners manual they say to keep it at the halfway point. Am I adding any stress on the seals/gaskets by doing this with the possible increase in oil pressure? And a question for people running synthetic oil, I like to change my oil + filter at the same time. What is the common mileage for a synthetic oil change with the PCX filter. I know the synthetic oil can outlive the filter life, I am just trying to find a happy medium.

my guess is they tell people that because of the rpm's these motors turn that if you fillit to the top the oil may foam and not lubricate.

I would think oil has a better chance of foaming being sloshed around in the oil pan. Does anybody else fill their oil to the max line?

My owners manual does not say that, it says to keep the level between the upper and lower marks, I keep mine at the top of the XXXs. Runs great

Mine's 3/4 way up from the low mark. I'm going to add a little more for track days.

F20C, I do exectly as you do; Mobil 1 and filter change together. I put the 5 quart jug in, check the level and after about a day check the level again and usually add about 1/8 to 1/4 quart more. It stays at max all the time without problems. I end up adding a little to top off if I VTEC a lot. I change the oil and filter on time since I only put about 3500 miles a year on the odo.

The cars come from the factory with the oil level at the top of the X's.
That's where I like to keep mine at all times... runs great.
