Default Oil Pan

Hey guys,

Was on the highway doing about 70-75mph when I hit/went over a strip of a blown tire. I went over it just inside of my right front tire and it made a "clunk" noise on the bottom of my car as it passed through. It didn't sound severe but it was pretty noticeable. Any chance that I could have broken something like the oil pan?

-Mike

PS- I drove about another 100 miles just to get home without problems. I'd check my oil level myself before I drive the car the next time but the area where I live, it's valet only so I'm a little worried.

If it's not sitting in a puddle of oil, then probably fine.

Even if valet, you can walk up to the garage and look for your car.

Bring a shop towel and check your dipstick level.

A piece of rubber tire is not going to affect your oil pan. If hit with enough force, it might put a dent in something like a muffler but not even sure about that.

My Friend hit a rock on the freeway and punched a fist size hole in his . I agree with the others a peice of a tire might dent it if it hit it hard enough, but I doubt it would puncture it
