As I recall from my previous experience with a failed battery, you are very limited to the choices you have for batteries.

I opted for the Honda battery because they replaced it for free under warranty. Otherwise, I forget the name of the company, but I don't think it is Delco (unfortunately) and there really isn't a top-of-the-line battery you can get that will fit our cars. Anyway, there is another brand out there that makes a decent battery, but not a hardcore battery. I suggest you call a place like Sears Autocenter and they can give you the exact model and brand name of the battery I'm talking about.

Prolene got a new battery that smaller and saves a lot of weight. I'm not sure about the power though. I know you've modified your sound system a lot, so I'm not sure if the battery has enough power for you.

The Odyssey brand battery is very much similar to the Spoon, perhaps a little lighter, and does not quite fit the footprint of Spoon's battery holder. It is apparently used in some racing NSXs . It has started my car fine even in cold weather (SoCal type). I weighed the weight differences and got 15 pounds savings, I seem to recall.

The battery in my 92 Accord EX Wagon went 8 years - when I sold it it was still the original battery! My 95 Prelude VTEC at 6 years was still on its original battery when I sold it.

I don't really care about weight savings. I've had to put it on the charger several times in the last month. Testing it recently with the battery tester is telling me to replace it.

I think its a group 51 size. I don't really want to go back to the panasonic thats in there now. Just wanted to see people's input on this.

I tried putting a yellow-top Optima battery in. The battery is too big and will not fit in the mounts. I hear that Optima is coming out with a performance battery that will fit our cars soon.
