Default OMG! Top is ripped!

So here I am, 10 days in to getting my car...

I go to put the top down so I unlatch both latches, then latch them back up, then begin to pull the lever down... halfway through, I hear "pop!" I was like, wtf? so I put the top back up, then I find out the passenger side didn't latch all the way and now I have a hole on my top...

Why me??!?! Why didn't I double check the latches?!?!?

OMG!!! shoot me.

Same thing happened to me, pretty much. I've just been using my hardtop until I get it fixed.

Same thing happened to me to, only on both sides of my top. Anyways I went to a place the dealer recommended and they fixed both sides for 50$. Looks good to me to, anyone that didn't own the car would have no idea. Either way what I do now is that bar that is supposed to fold back I push it back when the top is going down. My straps are worn out and they need to be replaced. I think thats what caused it in the first place. I haven't had it happen again since.

My dealer didn't have anyone that could do it. So they gave me the number for a place that could do it. Don't be to upset, just break out some duct tape temporarily. Believe me I was pissed to but it barely took anytime to fix and I have had it fixed for a year now.

wow....that can happen just because you don't latch it up while it's going down? I assumed it wouldn't be good just leaving the latch flopping around but I didn't think it'd put a hole in it. Thanks for the heads up, I'm gonna be extra careful now.

I called a bunch of places and no one can fix it...

Some say that they "might" be able to do it...

I guess I'll have to save up for a hardtop.

I don't know what area you are in... but any upholstery shop specializing in convertible tops should be able to fix the hole.
