OMG! Top is ripped!

I am confused??? The passenger latch was unlocked from the top of the windshield but since it wasent put back in the locked position as the top was going down the top ripped??? Am I understanding this?

LoL so far I put tape (colored it black) underneath the rip and sewed it...

Hmm ive heard of many people who have said they have never relatched their latches when putting down their tops for years and never had a problem.

Personaly sometimes i do sometimes i dont. I dont see how it made a hole?

I don't know either, but that's the only way it could have caused it because I check my car's top all the time before I get in and out. It looks like since the latch was down, there was a sharp piece sticking out, and that's exactly where it made the mark.

Mine was similar. That bar that is there I noticed didn't move all the way back so now I push it back because I haven't replaced the elastic straps. I think it left some slack in the top because the bar didn't move back and the latch even though it was closed caught the slack in the top and put a hole in it.

Finally! One place that does upholstry for boats and stuff just patched it up for $25. Did a decent job, but that's probably the best it's gonna look.
