Default OMG... why didn't I remove it sooner?

After six months of dealing with the rattles from my exhaust, I decided to spend the 15 minutes today to remove my tray....

Why isn't this the FIRST mod people with exhaust or stereo work do? The bass from my sub is like 200% better than before, with no rattles. I'm not sure how much exhaust rattle it'll remove, but even if that aspect is small, the stereo benefit is huge.

The only downside is seeing my amp setup when the top is up. I ended up putting a towel down over everything, just to cleanup the look a bit. Still, a small price to pay.

It's pretty easy. Just keep the top up and fold down the windscreen. Pop the center part of the clips in, I beleive four on the back and four on the front of the plasic tray. Remove the carpet from the back of your trunk, then push the four white clips up through the holes that hold the tray in. Next, push up on the front part of the tray from inside the trunk. It should start to give a bit. When you get it free, rotate it and pull it out through the trunk. Once you start doing it, everything is pretty common sense. Took me less than 15 minutes.

I want to do this, I am just worried about how it looks. Does it look like it would be easy to put back in?

my roomie with an 01 removed it because from the beginning, his tray made rattles everywhere....but my 07 does not rattle what so ever with the tray in. He was shocked and pissed that my tray didnt make any noises. =)

I had a similiar issue with my mirror in my 99Si.

I fixed it by taking the mirror apart and putting a small o-ring in there where the swivel is and that made it stay wherever you pointed it (this was on my civic with subs in it, I have not done it to the S)

I've never taken my tray out so perhaps I'm not imagining this properly, but could you take your tray out and put some sticky foam tape around the edges of the tray (where I'm assumming the rattles are coming from) to eliminate the noise. Would this work?
