Default Only 3600 miles and it doesn't run

Drove home last night and my stook ran fine. Tried to start it this morning and it would not idle. Check engine light is on - car cannot be driven - no idle and it stalls if RPM exceeds about 2300. Exhaust smells very rich. Only 3600 miles on odometer. The car has never been driven hard. Vtec only about every other week. Anyone have any suggestions before I call for the tow truck?

Do a visual check check under the hood for any vac lines that may have come off/broken/colapsed, make sure all the sensor connections on the engine are pluged in tight, maybe a wire somewhere has been charred or chafed by the engine. check all your fuses. If you don't find anything and it smell's that rich, I would call a flatbed. Not worth driving and damaging the catylitic converter. Good luck.

Check the MAP sensor too - make sure it's screwed in tight, unplug it then plug it back in.

Thanks to all who offered advice, but problem solved. Either my apexi vafc failed or lost it's initialization. I first disconnected the vafc from the pigiback harness, but the problem remained. Then removed the harnes and, presto, car runs fine and the check engine light is out.

I'll leave the vafc off until my mugen headers abd exhaust arrive. Then I'll reinstall it and see if it works.

Has anyone else with a Vafc experienced a problem like this?

It might've been advisable to mention the VAFC when you posted.

And I was thinking that he either doesn't VTEC enough or someone secretly installed the Vortech S/C kit on his car.

All joking aside, I'm glad you figured out what the problem was. Good luck with your other mods.
