I heard that about the GT3 and thought the same thing. I guess it puts out more hp/liter then the F22?
The F22 is 108HP/l.

And, clearly, the person writing the article wasn't including the still existing F20 markets. So be it. Technically, in the US, this is an accurate statement.

It could have something to do with the new horsepower ratings?

*cough* make sure you say "most power per litre of any piston engine" don't forget about those wankels and their 1.3 litres of doom.
We really need to say "NA piston engine."

Didn't BMW claim the Z4 to have the fastest automatic rooftop in the world? top up to down in 9 seconds. Impressive...or have they not heard of an S2000?
The roof on the Z4 is truly AUTOMATIC...

We have to unlatch/latch it by hand...

Ours goes down faster, but there's is the fastest fully automatic top...

Are you talkin about the 3 rotor motors because all of the rotary engines that were in RX7's and the existing RX8's are 1.3 litre's and the first generation RX7 in the early 80's had a 1.2 12b. All the newer ones had the 13b 1.3 and the RX8 has what mazda calls the 13b 1.3 Renessis engine. However there was a bigger 3 rotor motor that you could swap in there.

wankels actually should be considered 2.6 liter engines because of the amount of compression usage they are using from their engine. if you're really interested this is discussed in detail on rx7 website
i never understood why the hp/liter thing really mattered. i supposed it's a nice thing to brag about when you're around your z06 and m3 buddies but it really doesn't matter.

hp/liter is just a meaningless measure used by Honda fanboy. Real carguys talk about hp/weight ration.

PS. It is a lot harder to make 115hp/liter on a 3.6 motor than to make 120hp/liter on a 2.0 motor.
