Out with the Z in with the S
Well as far as I know the tire feathering is still an issue. I had the problem, but they had a tsb out for it. Regaurdless I still got 22k miles on my original set of tires. And the fronts still had more tread left.
The clutch wasn't all that bad, yes harder than the s. and it didnt really ease up much, but compared to my old cobra it was pretty light.
Now one thing to be careful about is the tranny. As far as I know they havn't been able to fix the grinding problems yet, and they are on there 4th version of the transmission. Many people have had there tranny replaced 2 or 3 times so just watch out. Some people havn't had any problems so its been hit or miss. Oh and lastly whatever you do, get a clear bra for it as soon as you can if not the next day lol. The paint is so soft up front you will see rock chips and bug guts eating thru the paint. Within 1000miles it will look like you have been driving for years. But other than those issues the car preformed great. Very stout and peppy.

wow what a blast from the past... I just happened to stubble past this thread after doing a search and i must say I never ever did post any pictures lol. Anywayz over 2 years later and I still have the S and its still kicking along with some goodies on the way
Me too... i.e., traded in a Z for the S2000; however, in my case it was a 2000 BMW Z3 roadster. The Z3 was fast, fun and very reliable... even so, it doesn't compare to the S2000 in the cornering and smiles per mile.
Being 44 years old, it still feels great to shift through the gears at full tilt (gotta love long freeway on-ramps). I like the S2Ki site and forums a lot too.

The car is setup to be very neutral but if you lift off the throttle in the turn you have a good chance of getting the back end to step out.
just thought that giving it gas again would make it worse? But what do I know, I'm 16 and have only had the car for a month.. and never auto-xed in my life.
(ps, I've been a lot smarter lately though.. not driving all crazy like in the rain, I learned my lesson with a close incounter with the curb)

I kind of have to disagree.. I've spun out once giving it gas in a turn (it was a wet road.. so that could be a cause)

and I've also gottent he back end (really) loose on a left turn (on addicdent) from trying to pass someone off the bat... I hate slow drivers, so I pressed the throttle pretty firm out of the exit of the turn (didn't floor it) and it started to swing out, it was only my second time experiencing this, so I let off the gas and straightened back out..
If you flat out come into a corner ridiculously too fast, lifting or not will not save you.

With proper alignment and tire pressures, the S2000 is 100% neutral. So many owners have posted here with "Damn, wrecked my S" or "Spun my S2K"....
If you want to spin it, it will let you. The majority of cars on the road today take a lot more effort to oversteer. Learn the limits gradually and AUTOCROSS!!! That is the single best thing you can do for driver improvement. You will find that the car is HIGHLY controllable!
BTW, you purchased the best year!!
