over reved...

Default over reved...

driving around a few mins ago pulled vtec and accidently hit rev limiter.. first time doing it.. should everything be alright or do i need to check anything? Thanks!

No harm done, thats what a rpm limiter is for.

I agree, once you experience the excitement of unabashed vtec, normal driving becomes boring. Honda designed the rev-limiter to ensure that drivers like you, me and the rest of us won't harm the engine by pushing on the gas pedal. Keep in mind that you can over-rev your engine by shifting from 5th to 3rd at redline, and, if you do, it will likely be catastrophic. Drive safely, enjoy vtec and remember if you run at redline, make certain that you select the correct gears.

You should be fine as long as you didn't downshift and have that cause you to over-rev or hit the revlimiter. So now you can relax and go have some fun!
