If the clearcoat is new and there is overspray on it, and if there is paint running down the sides, why would you take the car from the dealership? I would have asked them for a new one. I think it IS possible factories can make mistakes, but overall, from having friends and family members who owned various cars form various companies, I've noticed Mercedes and Toyota have excellent paint jobs from the factory.
