how much does it usually cost to paint the entire s2k? who here have a new paint job on the car but left the inside the engine the original stock color? will painting the outside & leaving inside old color be tacky?

Yes, and at resale time, this will make your car worth next to nothing.

Absolutely, don't paint the car that does not match the color of the engine bay. In other words, if you need a repaint, do so in the original factory color.

But if you feel you must change the color, do a "frame off" re-paint. Although it will still not be "original", at least a future prospective buyer will know that you went the extra effort to see that it was done right.

How much does a respray cost? Just the outside, assuming no dents need to be pulled and so on.

And what is involved on the respray? Do they have to sand down and primer all over again or just spray over existing paint?

I've seen a complete repaint advertised for as little as $200.00. This involves minimal sanding, minimal masking off, minimal coats of paint. You DON'T want one of these on a S2000.
You want a proper sanding, proper masking off, proper good quality base coats and clear coats, with wet sanding if necessary in between. This doesn't come cheap. If you want cheap, you'll get your car back looking like Dolly Parton on a heavy make up day.

Ha Ha, No I don't want my paint looking like a mud puddle with ripples in it....So, could I get a nice respray in the area of 1k?
