Hi! I'm going to repaint my valve cover. Do I need heat resistant paint, or will I be fine with normal paint? The best Is probably to powdercoat, but it's fun to do the job myself, and probably cheaper. And, if I use heat resistant paint, can I use normal clear coat on the top of that? Thanks for any feedback!

you're gonna need heat resistant paint for sure!
and i'd powder coat if i were you!
i know it costs more, but it looks awsome when you are done with it!

 

I'm pretty sure you can use engine paint for this. People use this on their brake calipers as well.

I'll at least go with heat resistant paint then. If I do it myself. Think I'm going to get my rims powdercoated this winter, so I'll check how much I have to pay for it. Could check how much for the valve cover at the same time Just thought it would be fun to paint it myself
