Default Paint problems with the S2000?

Honda has had some paint problems with the 01 and 02 Honda Odyssey particulary the Silver color.

Have any of you noticed paint blotches or problems with your S2000? I know the Spa Yellow seemed to have problems around the front bumber.

Opinions on repainting a door panel or quarter panel at a good shop? It seems an excelllent body shop should be able to do a good repair which will hold up well. The value of the vehicle should not change much, right?

The Odyssey owner's forum (OdyClub.com) mentioned that repainting is not an option secondary to significant vehicle depreciation. I am not sure I agree with that provided the re-paint looks good and matches well. The re-paint should hold up if taken care of with regular waxing.

I've had three silver Honda cars, and I also currently have my sister's Silver Accord. The only car I've seen issues with has been the silver on the 99 accord. It has a splotchy look in certain lights because of uneven spray when painting. My Acura TL's silver has no such issues, My S2000 has no such prob as well. My previous Accord had no issues. Supposedly Silver can be a prob if not painted well. I doubt you'll have that problem with the S2000 as these are hand built and hand painted. i'd hope that they would take extra care on such a car.

That being said, repainting of either Silver or Spa yellow would be difficult, but can be doen and should not be an issue if done properly.

I've got peeling paint on both my front and rear bumpers, so I'll have to have my car repainted. Makes me pretty angry, but there's really nothing I can do about it.

Same problem here with '01 Silver. Rear bumper peeling behind left wheel. Very aggravating.

Isn't the paint covered under waranty? I'd be shocked to find out it isn't.

It's covered under warranty, but the problem with the issue is that some people that have had their bumpers repainted haven't had any better luck with the repaint. It seems as if there might be some design flaw of some sort, and repainting is only a temporary fix.
