I painted my calipers...but I took them off the car, washed and clean everything. I used Hi-Temp paint and also Hi-Temp clear coat so that I always have the constant wet look. I have had it for about a year now and they still look shiny!!! It took me the whole weekend to do them. I spray painted the front and rear calipers red on Saturday. Then on Sunday I applied the Hi-Temp clear coat and let it sit for the rest of the day and put everything back together in the evening. It took a long time, but I didn't want to f*ck up the paint. I had practice on my Integra calipers...they didn't turn out as nice.

I have a silver/black and I painted mine black. Looks good. Since there wasn't any other red items on the car near the wheels, I figured they might look tacky in red.

I also used a 1500 degree spray paint from either Home Depot or Pep Boys.

I just took off the wheels, taped and papered around the calipers, and sprayed away. I put on probably 4-5 coats or so. Painted everything, clips and all.

Great stuff....thought about red but prefer to stick with colors already on the car so am going to paint it shiny silver to begin with and if it does not go for me, will then try a shiny type of black.

Have you seen the thread by Turn Key Terror where he has inscribed the S2000 logo on his yellow calipers...that will be next on the list

Sehenkel, did one G2 paint kit provide enough to do all 4 calipers with three coats? and did you need to prime coat first?

There was more than enough paint left (about 1/4 can) even after 3 coats. No primer coat, just straight on the metal.

Can anyone recommend a specific brand? I was at autozone yesterday and they had some sort of 1200 deg spray paint, but it wasn't "caliper" paint and it didn't indicate whether it came out matte or glossy. Thanks!

Well, I finally got around to painting mine! Here are the materials I used: Dupli-color high heat ceramic RED paint (DH1608) from advanced Auto, Acetone (commercial grade, not wife fingernail polish remover), masking tape, tooth brush (perferably one you don't use anymore), old T-shirt, 2 model paint brushes, and 2 plastic containers (not cups..acetone will eat through cups).
I started with the driver's side rear. First I masked all the rubber hoses and connections and parts I did not want paint on. Then I poured some acetone in one of the containers and used the tooth brush to clean the caliper, cleaning the tooth brush in the acetone every so often. CAUTION: the acetone will spray off the tooth brush and get in your eye if you are too close and it does not feel good! Once I finished brushing, I dabbed the tshirt with some acetone and rubbed the caliper just to make sure i had all the gunk off. Once clean, I took the other container and sprayed (outside the garage) some into it. I brushed a thin coat on and let it dry for about 15 min. Came back for a second coat, let it dry then came back for touch up. I found that the paint actually covered better as it began to get tacky. it almost acted like a puddy and filled alot of the rough areas. i repeated the process for the front driver's side and then the fun began. TIME TO CURE. About fifteen min after I finished the front I took my S2k out to try and heat up the brakes. I've never had so much fun watching paint dry I started around 1100 and was driving it around 1600, but remember, that was only the driver's side. I'll hit the other side tomorrow. I probably could have gotten both sides done if I had a better jack than just the one that came with it. I am really happy with the color match. I'll post another reply in a couple of months to tell how they are holding up. Here are some pics:

All these looks great, but I'm most impressed by Cdelena's.
That is exactly the look I wanted to achieve with mine. (haven't had the nerve too yet though)
...one question, what is 'cad plating'? I'm assuming also by 'smoothing' you mean wet sanding, I'm I right?

I took the calipers off of the rotor and removed the brake pads, but did not remove them from the lines. Next, I smoothed all of the molding seams with my Dremmel and cleaned with the supplied brake cleaner. Finally, I painted each caliper with 3 coats of paint and the outcome was much nicer than I had expected. A few people have commented to me that it looks like I spray painted them due to the lack of any brush marks.
How about a report on how long the paint is lasting? I won't be doing any track racing, but think the red calipers will go nicely on my Sebring Silver/red.

Suggestions/comments?
