Painting brakes-Rice or not?
VR WHAT,
Just did my calipers 2 weeks ago, and I used Rustoleum clear gloss over the decals. However, I did not spray it on, but rather sprayed the clear into the cap, and used an artist brush to brush the clear over the decal only.
Also, prior to painting the calipers I highly recommend using a small die grinder to remove casting marks and smooth the entire surface of the caliper (takes about 4-5 hours). Once this is done, the G2 caliper paint will flow very nicely, and with 2-3 coats, will make your calipers look like wet finger nail polish rivaling powder coated calipers!
However, don't use the crappy brush that comes in the kit, instead, purchase 2 artist brushes from an arts and crafts store, one large one (for the large well exposed areas), and one small one (for detail and hard to reach areas).
If you plan this for a weekend project and take your time, you will be very happy with the results!

To each their own. . . . I used red G2 on mine and I love it. Also applied white decals. As far as the advise about brushes, I also bought artist brush but the "crappy ones" sent with kit worked better.
Thanx for the advice guys, as I will incorporate it into my project. I'll post some pics of my Spoon...........I mean Spoon blue
