Default Painting Engraved Voodoo Knob

For those who got the voodoo shift knob engraved, what kind of paint did you use to paint it?

I got my pearl magnum a few months ago and followed Rick's instrutions for painting the engraving. I used a semi-gloss black enamel. Rustoleum, I think.
Three really light coats with a couple of hours in between. I waited until the next day to peel the rubber coating off expecting to be disappointed and to have to grab the paint thinner. I was almost shocked to see that it came out perfect!
I've been using it daily since and it's still perfect.

I used rustoleuem high-heat silver ( just cuz I had it, but now I'm ready for severe global warming if GW gets re'elected' ) and it appears white - really - you can even stare at it up close and swear it is white. Used several coats at 20 min intervals.

I used flat black enamel paint, per Rick's instructions. 3-4 coats, then let it sit for 48 hrs. Peeled off the rubber, and she came out beautiful.

When you get these voodoo knobs, I assume you screw them on. How do you get the pattern to line up? Do the threads on the knob cinch down at just the right depth, or it is slightly loose?

You use thread lock on the shifter, line the knob up where you want it, and let it dry overnight. When you want to take it off you just have to break it loose.

ok so it seems the bottom line is that the paint has to be enamel based, is this correct? damn bigpurp that looks good! how do you think the look of the flat black compares to the semi-gloss? also do you have the pearl finish? (thats the one i'm trying to paint)

Thanks. I would try the semi-gloss. It should look just as good, if not better, than the flat.

Btw, my knob is Ti.
