My zero dollar solution since I learned how to drive: Back into a parking spot! This is actually the safer way to park, and mitigates your issue (since the butt is a little higher up than the front). Backing out of a parking spot in a hurry is simply asking for trouble. Driving out is MUCH easier and safer.

And if you REALLY need to head in (i.e. parking in one of those slanted spots) and there is a curb? Leave more margin, and get outta the car and take a closer look to see how much space you have left (or get your passenger to do it) before you inch forward. Afterall, the S2000 is a short car. Parking it a little further back isn't going to stick the butt out and block the traffic ...

I don't think parking sensors are going to help. They aren't that focused and usually beep too early. I don't think you can use them for the close range of the front like you want. I'd get a metal pole and mount it up front until you are used to the length of the bonnet.

Cheers

I still think the curb feeler (one) in the middle and installed below the front bumper and behind the leading edge, is your perfect solution.
Installed as described, it will never show and you will get about a 5-6inch warning before hitting a curb..

The problem is here that this country is blessed -- or in this case, plagued -- with large parking spots. Many people (not pointing at people on this board) cannot (i.e. unable to) back into a parking spot properly without hitting something, and these are precisely the people who back out of the parking spot -- guess what? Then accidents happen.

In many other countries where parking space is much more scarce, people have no choice but to back in ...

I actually do live in a city (Istanbul) where large parking spaces are scarce, and I have to continously parellel park, park head-on, and back up into small, weird spaces day and night. I've been using the S without sensors since I got it (5 days now ), and I'm ok. I just want to reduce the chances of an unneccesary scratch/dent after a long night of driving; I think most of you can appreciate that.

Too much money for something like that. Why not just a "curb feeler" jutting out 3-4 inches from the middle underside of your bumper. These would probably sell for under $5 a pair.
