partial clear hood
It sounds feasible with a plexiglass hood or polycarbonate material, but the safety factor sounds extremely poor. The weight might not be worth the effort either. None of these materials seem like they're able to take any stress. Audi spent millions on R&D for their hood, so who knows what kind of result an amateur would pull off. It doesn't sound very hard though.
You could just cut some vents from the pre-existing indents from under the hood, but plexiglass seems like it would be easily scratched by weathering.

The only thing I would think would be a little cool is a clear valve cover. A clear hood is just stupid IMHO.

why not?
The only thing is that this is aftermarket and not OEM.
you could only do it on a car with the engine in the back. otherwise it would look so awdward. thing about it. peering through to that ferrari 12 is exhilerating. having a clear S2000 hood? maybe if honda wanted to display engineering at an auto show. thats it..
I think that a clear hood looks horrible, it breaks up the entire look of the car, and IMO if you want a clear hood than you better at least have some work under there.
Might as well just drive with the hood off, it would be cheaper.

This coming from the same guy that wants to take off the whole s2k body and replace it with something else...
Its cool on a Ferrari because the Ferrari motor looks cool instead of looking like a sewing machine.
