Passed emissions!
Pinky,
My CT emissions sticker expires this month. Kind of pi$$es me off because I purchased my car on March 31 of last year and I already have to get the emissions checked? Doesn't make much sense unless you realize it's just another tax!!!
I DREAD the idea of bringing it in and letting these -- shall we say -- somewhat less than Rhodes scholars touching my car. I also don't want them wildly swinging their sharp scraper tool near the dash of my car as they partially scrape off the old emissions sticker and then sloppily plaster on the new one.
Hey s2kdave,
Any chance I can get your buddy from Motor Vehicles to make special arrangements for me at the Norwalk Inspection Station like he did for you? I'd certainly be willing to spring for a round of beers at a local tavern for you both if you could arrange it.
Please let me know. THANKS!

Actually, correct me if I am wrong, but the S2000 is a 'LEV' NOT a ULEV?

You know I HATE to ever disagree with you but, according to SAE Technical Paper 2000-01-0670 "Development of the High-Power, Low-emission Engine for the 'Honda S2000'," by Yutaka Otobe, Hiroshi Kawaguchi and Hideo Ueshima, Honda R&D Co., Ltd.,
Section 7. CONCLUSION:
"The F20C was designed exclusively for the Honda S2000, a new-generation sports roadster. During the research and development stage, the following achievements were obtained:
1) Simultaneous realization of a high output power of 179kW (89.5kW/liter) and clean exhaust emission which meet the National LEV standards.
2)Various technologies and devices leading to dimensional compactness which allows a 50mm reduction in the engine's overall length. In terms of weight, a reduction of approximately 16kg has been cut from the power unit when compared with the H22A Prelude engine."
Yup, your right; I cramed it all in my brain and short circuited the sentences."

"S2000:
Who says you can't have it all? The S2000 roadster combines the thrill of commanding a 240-horsepower engine with the good conscience of a LEV rating.
Accord:
This year, all Accords, including our powerful V-6 models, will be, at minimum, certified as Low-Emission Vehicles (LEV). The Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV) Accord,* the first mass-produced car to be certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) as an Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle, is among the cleanest gasoline-powered production vehicles in the world. The ULEV Accord is available in California and parts of the Northeast. In all other states, LEV Accords are available. "
