Passenger Airbag
You need to go to your dealer or http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/airbags/ to obtain a form that you must submit in writing to nhtsa as per instuctions. Once you receive a response in writing, take that form back to your dealer. Then, and only then can they modify the SRS of your car. I was quoted $579.00 for the switch.
i have an airbag switch in my S2000... cost was $275 from a place called Sensible Solutions, which I found on that NHTSA web site.... they even drove to my house to install it.... it is a little box that i had tucked under where the glovebox should be with a little key and some on-off lights.... very simple...
You fill out a form that basically says why you need the switch.... no dealer would even address the issue, and no installer wil charge more than about $300.
hope that helps.... if you are near DC, Sensible Solutions seems to be the answer..
