downshifitng 3 gears is just showing off...6th gear is fine for me. the car still pulls nicely in 6th gear if you want to simply just pass someone.


even in an automatic, do you just floor it(making the car downshift a couple gears) to simply pass somoene that is going 5 mph slower than you? think about it..

 

I prefer to spend as little time on the wrong side of the road as I can. You never know what may be around the corner so I would downshift into third and get it over with quickly.

 

sixth gear, at fifty mph, DOES NOT pull... not one single bit.

 

If it's a two lane road, I would definately try to get ahead of them as soon as possible to decrease the chance of any risk.
