See, to us...a black AP1 that's virtually stock is like seeing a Civic or a Camry. However to those that drive Civics and Camrys, this car is something very special. It's a rarity that many of us forget about because we see it daily. It might have been the condition of the car, but my guess it was just as much the car itself.
After all, the first time I saw an S2000 was in NYC...I was 12 and I thought it was some kind of really expensive Porsche

Earlier today, some girl in a red Honda Civic parked her car frantically, pulled out a camera, and then positioned herself to take a pic of my car, but suddenly muttered, "Oh, it's just a Honda" before walking away looking disappointed. 
She was driving a damn HONDA Civic.

At a car show (with my hood open), I had a guy ask me why my engine was mounted "this way" (he made up and down hand motions) and not "this way" (he then made side to side hand motions). "Eh...because it's rear wheel drive?" was my response. He thought ALL Hondas were FWD.

about 2months ago had two dudes leaning up against their truck, bs'ing with each other after a softball game. they were there for a good 15mins. I went to go leave, popped the trunk and one goes, "man, how you like that viper?"
"That not a viper, thats a honda" was my response
"Really, I thought for sure that was a viper! great looking car!"

When I saw my first S2000 up close it was Spring of 2000 at the beach when I was 20. It was red and just off the showroom and I fell in love then and there.

damn i wave all the time, sometimes i get a weird stare its odd. sure if I was driving an accord it would be weird cuz id be waving at every 5th car
