Perfect stock??

A set of 4.44s will drop 1/2 a second or so off your times (from what I remember). Doesn't affect any transmission gear, as you're just replacing the ones in the rear differential. You'll end up having the motor rev slightly higher at the same speeds because of the change in gearing (ie, 1st tops out about 5mph less than it does with stock gears, top speed in sixth drops by 8mph, etc), but it's supposed to make one hella difference in off-the-line acceleration.

From what I've read, it's a negligible difference at highway speeds. I'm looking at it probably sometime in the next 12 months when I start beefing up the rear end (Comptech differential, spoon axles, J's Racing gears, etc). Try a search - there's a couple great threads on the topic.

Do some searches on this board & you should find everything you would want to know about aftermarket parts for the S2000. I'm not a purist but this is the first car that i've owned that i've done the least mods to. Drive the car stock for a year & then decide if you want to make changes. So far after a year & half of ownership the only mod that i've done is the Mugen N-0 suspension
