i thought i'd give you 2 personal product testimonials you may be interested:

ok, i've had the spoon wide angle mirror for the past 5 days now, and i thought i give you a report.

first of all the good news: it truly eliminates all blind spots. does anyone remember my post last year about "S2K owners' exercise series one"? i was referring to the fact that everytime i check my left i have to lean forward quickly and lean back, giving my abs a good workout on a long and busy commute. well, no more ab-crunching. this mirror does very well indeed.

now the not so good news: 1. it's coated with an optical coating (almost bluish), and it tends to make ALL headlights at night HID looking (very bright spots). i had thought the blue coating would eliminate the glare, but it didn't really do that very well. 2. it's a stick on piece. for some this may be good news (easy removal), but Prolene had to help me with an extra layer of double sided tape on top of the existing tape to make sure it fits, and i'm afraid that one of these days a strong jolt's gonna knock it out. 3. the wide angle requires a different focus for your eyes to adjust to. i don't know what your eye sight is like, but after my LASIK eye surgery in '99, my eyes' ability to quickly focus between 2 different views with different magnification AND color (remember the bluish tint) confuses the crap out of my eyes and it strains it somewhat. 4. i rely on the left rear view mirror to see whether a patrol car is behind me or not, but the wide angles tend to make that distinction unclear.

another product is the hotly debated Denso Iridium plugs. Prolene helped me install it last Saturday after the SEMA show, and after 5 days I must say that i am very happy with it. No, there's no significant HP gain (since I installed the Spoon TB at the same time) that i'm aware of. however, the rather annoying drop in RPM when you step on the clutch at low speeds (feels as if the engine was going to stall) when the engine is cold has been eliminated. i will report on MPG when i finish off my current tank of gas.

hope that helped.

Thanks for the report Richard. I was considering the Iridium plugs, but it sounds like it may not be worth the expense - especially if they change the throttle response when shifting. (Funny, but Neuspeed didn't recommend their use either.)

So the mirrors didn't suit you either? That's too bad. I'm continuing my search for the stick-on ones they have in the U.K.; I have a friend going there next month, who will try to check them out for me.

1Y2KS2K, the Iridium plugs changed the throttle response for the better when shifting and letting off throttle.

Before you buy new mirrors, check out this mirror mod. I have no blind spot at all and it cost me under $1.00.
