Honestly, I'd like to know if anybody here has actually seen the pax side airbag on an s2k deploy. Does it shoot out horizontally toward the pax seat occupant, or does it shoot upward and protect the pax from the windshield in that manner? I think you can see what a difference this would make in one's decission to drive an s2k with their dog or cat in the pax seat. Some cars with horizontally-deploying pax airbags do so with such force that small children have been more seriously injured by the airbag than by the colission. That's why we have all those laws about infant's seats and their placement in a car. I can only imagine what one of those airbags that deploy horizontally with great force would do to an animal.
But if the s2k airbag deploys upward, hauling a dog in an s2k might be one of the safer alternatives

FTW - Ha! But true...

Thanks - your dog looks very cool too.

I've had black labs, golden retrievers, and border collies are my favorites.
I had a border collie mix and a golden retriever before this one...and i agree with you. My dog is VERY hyper but he's fun and helps me exercise

I would get a beater, but I live in downtown Chicago and park on the street. No way I can deal with having 2 cars to manage down here. The S as a DD works just fine, just looking for some options for my pup
