I plan on bringing my dog (110lbs, although 40 pounds overweight), she usually sits in the back seat of my 97 Civic coupe, she has no problem back there, she shouldn't have a problem in an S when I get one.

Some one here took the seat out for a road trip with their dog. That sounds like the best option.

I use a CoverCraft pet seat cover though it's rare these days that I take my dog in my S since the other half has a CUV.

There is no way I'd drive a car with our 65 lb Boxer in the front seat area.....any car. The dog is crazy! The vet calls it separation anxiety. I think he's on doggy speedballs. He looooves people, any people. I could easily see him leaping out of the car on the highway. Anyway, I'm not getting in an accident over a dog. Also don't wanna be sued.

This. I have taken my friends cocker spaniel (30-40lbs) to and from the vet in the S before. I usually just put a towel down on the seat and make sure to keep a small towel in hand to wipe off any drool that might escape. Otherwise no issues. I imagine if its a big dog, you can simply take the passenger seat out and put down some towels and be good to go.

Lol... My Boxer loves riding in my car. If the door to any car is open, he leaps right in and sits down on the seat waiting to be strapped in.

It really depends on the dog. I use a seat cover and keep his nails trimmed. No damage thus far.
