These photos of half a tonneau cover on a TT will give you some idea of what Luder94 is trying to achieve and what we would like to make available to our S2000 compatriots. Note how the cover is fitted over the seat back.

BTW, these photos were emailed to me by a soon-to-be owner overseas who says he's been lurking on the board for a while. Hopefully, he'll soon begin posting.

That's the idea, all right.

I can't tell how far back it goes, but my vote for the S2000 would be to cover the folded top. I hate the Honda cover, but the top really does get dirty when its down.

Go for it!

Oh my gosh!!! That picture makes the Tonneau cover idea a bit discouraging. The one I'm designing, hopefully, will fit much more taught then that and will have a better finish of fitting the contours of the interior.

Rick, I can't wait to put this paper model together and take pics for you. I think you, as well as those interested, will be pleasantly pleased. For all those that think about emailing me for a pic, if I could have you wait until we get a prototype made in cloth, vinyl, or pleather, for the pic, it'd be greatly apprecieated.

It seems that this project will go much quicker than the boot cover project, and hope to have it available before the National event.

Luder94, I know that your version will be much better, but I just wanted to give everybody an idea how a tonneau cover worked.

Townsend Leather is standing by for the patterns. They can make them out of anything we want vinyl, the convertible top material, etc. -- not just leather.

So that's what a T-cover looks like. I wouldn't buy one. I think it looks pretty darn ugly covering up the passenger side like that. There's a certain point when you "care" too much about your car.

I was thinking it was a replacement for the bulky Honda boot cover to make it easier to install and less bulbous looking. I would be interested in buying one of those.

Good luck, though. Looks like a lot of people are interested.

I saw one of those at an Audi dealer and it was like $1200! It didn't fit too well either and looked like it would flap like crazy on the highway. I can only imagine what would happen if that thing got loose on the freeway so a tight fit for the S2000 would be very important. I'd hate to get slapped in the face by my own car!

heres a pic of the 2001 Miata tonneau..

I had one on my 90 miata and likes it tho it did like to get tossed about at speeds > 45mph.. but it was great.. i could zip it up and not fear light rain, then unzip and tuck behind the seat to drive away.

The question I have Rick and Luder, is how you are going hands the rollbars? the TT picture above isnt clear.. Is there a puch for the seat and rollbar or is it effectively flat and there will be a contour formed from the seat and rollbar(s) underneath?

pellis,
The photo of the Miata with the tonneau is a bit confusing to me. It looks like the seats have magicly disappeared in the first photo, and the passenger seat is still gone in the second .
