Default pics of cell phone placement mounts ?

I'm currently looking at relocating my cell phone location as I placed inside the slot behind the cup holder. Bad move !! This is a poor place as my elbow keeps hitting it when shifting, and when cornering hard, it tends to flip right out of that mini slot. (of course I am using an earpiece and not holding the phone up to my ear, for all those safety fanatics out there) :-)

I could place it inside the cup holder, but I have other mini particles which do not allow to close propersly with the phone inside.

so i'm interested to see your mounts

thanks for your time

Mine sits in the glove compartment. I don't like to be bothered when I'm enjoying the S.

i put mine in the change holder right behind the cup holder. That way I can charge it and use the earphone piece at the same time and it's within grabbing reach if I need to make a call.

This is a full install handsfree kit. No headphones required. This installation required about 2 hours or labor and 4 hours to restore my back to normal shape.

I have the PanaVise mount for the S2000. Some folks have been able to find one of these for $20 - 30. Well worth it, IMO. It is made of thin metal and is custom molded to the panels it will be contacting. Here's a pic:

I later had a Nokia handsfree kit installed. The kit is superb! The installer added a relay that automatically mutes my radio when a call comes in or I place a call.

Here are some pics of the installed Nokia unit. This unit retails for about $150 - 200 and fits any 5100, 6100+ series. Comparable kits are available for other phones as well.

This is the "privacy" handset. You can use it when someone else is in the car and you want a "private" conversation or the way I use it when I'm cruising down the highway with my top down.

The external antenna. The kit bypasses the phones internal antenna and can actually give the phone an increase to a full watt of tranceiving power. Normal operation is at 6/10ths of a watt.

The mic is located above on the roof pillar. The pic I have is bad, too close but I'm sure you can visualize it.

Also, the radio door can easily close and open without interruption. This is the entire idea behind PanaVise's mounts. Also, no screw holes are necessary. These mounts utilize exisitng radio holes and screws to install. Installation is a walk in the park!

Great Installs !!

However, I change phones like the wind (nokia 8800 series to startac) so a car kit is out of the question for me.

the reason I am not considering a "install kit" is due to having to yell my conversations.. I rather enjoy listening to the engine, so I opt for my earpiece.

Skip, your install looks great! Are you going to do the same for the '03?

And that's fine. . .

But I think you owe yourself another look into the PanaVise mount. For a few months, I only had the mount with a basic Nokia clip for the 8260.
