I'm in favor of the minimalist approach to cell phone mounts.

Mine lays on its side between the gear shift and the radio panel. Yes, it does take an occassional unexpected trip into the passenger side floorboard on particularly exhilerating left-handers, but I can live with that.

Johnny--2k -

Why do you have the heater going full blast, full heat, and recirculating? Wasn't that distracting while you took the photo?

After much thought and deliberation my cell phone ended up under the E-brake. I purchased the CLIP from Radio Shack and it sticks to the interior via some non-damaging adhesive, I have used the Clip and removed the it from other vehicles sucessfully. I have a small Nokia phone with a case that has a rotating clip with a quick release. I clip the phone to the Clip and put the E-brake down, when the phone rings, I just rotate it to unclip. Although, I mostly use hands free and only unclip the phone when I leave the car. Below is a pic. I like the location because it's close and I have a good view of the phone.

Vtecnrg, how do you like that shift nob? I was thinking of getting the momo with the red leather, how does it feel, lower than the stock, etc...?

Thanks,
John

Good question!
This is one car that just does not have any good place for a cell phone. The sticky pad was a pretty good idea. I think I would be leary of some of the other mounts because of possible danger to the passenger under a quick maneuver or worse.

I can't (?) easily post a pic now that Photopoint is gone but depending on the type of phone....
I went to Best buy and bought a sticky back universal mount made for my phone that is very flat (not ugly attached to the dash). I mounted it (stick-on) to the dash somewhat toward the passenger. Actually besides seeing the little but somewhat discreet mount when the phone isn't present, it's great. I can read the screen while driving and the corded speakerphone reaches with no problema. Doesn't appear to endanger the passenger and looks as though it was factory done.

You can stash it between driver seat and center console, right in front of the seat belt clip thingy.
This way you can use your car charger without having a long cord running across your car. And the head phone conveniently goes straight up to your ear.
Also if you don't remember to take your cell phone out of your car, it's in a inconspicuous space so less worry about break in to steal the phone.
(sorry, no pics. But get up from your chair, walk to the garage and try it. Yes, I'm talking to you).
