Pics, a track day at the Summit Point Raceway
Randy-
Congrats on the great time. I would have never guessed that you'd be able to get in after BSR told me how long their waiting list was. Knowing this, maybe we can go before the 15th as well. They have dates on 11/17 and 12/1 also.

Gregg, thanks.
Sure why not? Let's try to go to one of those date before the 15th.
I never knew where the Ashburn was until I passed by and thought about you.
You are lucky to live even closer to the track.
Contact me to arrange which date so I can make sure I get off that date, or I will contact you whichever comes first.

are you guys trying for something before mid november??? i am in group 2 and can get in anytime... just need to take the day off at work, and blow some $ on brake pads.... if I get the semi-race pads from ben before then, I can try to come out. I still have a little tire left to burn on my original S0-2's

Yep, that's a Pantera with a group 5 body kit on it. I had one of these cars and it was awesome. Mine had a twin turbo-charger setup. Here's a picture taken with a Apple Quicktake digicam (many years ago) so it's not too good, but you get the idea.
I couldn't get it smogged in California with that stuff on it, so I had to change it back to normal aspiration for smog...then it was back to the twin-turbo.
What a pain it was to swap!

ScottA - I was sort of surprised to see randy hit 127also, seeing how I only hit 128, and go solo, and have been there a bunch of times, and drive fairly aggressively.
Randy did however state something about his speedo may be wrong due to his reduced gearing.. if he reduced it 7%, he would really only be hitting about 117-118mph.
Does that help? I wish I could go on the 17th (boohooo - i only got to one FATT this year). I can register up until the last minute I think, so........i can try.
have fun.

Scot and ScottA,
Don't be shocked. There is a reason I said 'Optimistic Speedo of 127'. And Scot is right, I was probably doing 117-118 in real.
The error in speedo was caused by the gear ratio change.
But I could have gone much higher. First the instructor riding with me was BIG guy 6'4 and probably 220 pounders and me weighing at 185 and we are clearly over the 400 pound limit.
Also I backed out way long before reaching the brake point and red line shifting was only done from 3rd to 4th and from then quickly 5th and to 6th and kept there. And exit speed before the straight way was mild.
That is why the instructor was quite shocked that my car hit the fake speedo of 127 with above conditions.
Of course I owe that performance to ATS gear, Mugen ECU and Mugen Intake. Man the Mugen Intake was working really hard and the engine totally screamed for joy at the vtec.
I hope to see you guys in person over there some day.
We should have the S2000 day at the Point event. Who wants to organize?
