Default Picture of trunk without tools

I discovered that someone tried to use the tool well in the trunk to lift the car.

I am going to attempt to restore it to its proper shape so the tool foam will fit properly.

If anyone has a picture of the trunk with the carpet and tools removed, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Rick

Are you sure its is crush damage from a lift, or could it be damage from a rear end collision? (assuming you bought used)

if no one posts a picture, I'll take a picture of mine tonight when I get home. I took everything out when I was attempting to build a sub box, but the fiance saw how much space it freed up and well I've been running almost 2years now w/out it.

Can someone explain to me how you would use the tool well to lift the car? I just can't picture it.

If someone did not know what they were doing they might try to jack up the back of the car by placing the jack directly below the trunk instead of the proper location which is under the differential. Very stupid. Yes. Possible. Yes. Did you ever see the film that was passed all over the internet of the guys who hooked a tow strap to back of a plastic bumper to pull the car out of the snow! Same thing.

It is very easy to see the imprint of the jack pad in the bottom of the trunk. Not crash damage.

Many years ago, a tire shop lifted my Prelude with a floor jack against the fuel tank. After I got my new tires, the fuel tank read completely wrong and wouldn't take the full amount. I realized what what was wrong a week later and they said they didn't do it until we checked their floor jack cap against the dent in the fuel tank. Low and behold, a perfect fit. They paid Honda to put in a new fuel tank and I never returned to the shop.
