I saw a red S2000 with a black pinstripe along the side. It looked damned good, IMHO.

Why does it mean a lot to HIM?.... it's your car. I'd politely tell your dad that you would rather just do something else for your birthday if you like your car the way it is.

I agree with a few above.

Tell him its a nice gesture and you really appreciate it but the look of your S2000 is something that you already have planned out in your mind and that just doesn't fit into the mix. As an alternative, if he is dead set on doing something to the car, point out some other things he could get for it that are on your want list.


Pin stripped S2000s have never had good results beyond the eyes of their owners.
