I take my car into the dealer for service due to water leaks on both windows. I leave it early last Wed morning and the tech and service adv. calls me that the car will be ready following day because they were not able to get to it. The tech guy who I know well, tells me that he will leave the car inside the bay so that next morning he can finish it up. Everything is Cool!! However, they call me on Thurs. to let me know that he has fixed the leaks but the seal around the A pillar and windshield frame has to be changed out because it has a small leak and he would have to order the part.

So I go and pick the car up. The car is dirty from the water test, but by my request I asked not to have my car washed. I get my keys and get in the car, (obviously I logged my miles 3233 and two bars above half tank when the car was dropped off) it has 9.5 more miles on the odometer and one line below half tank. A chip on the windshield and my front bumper (underside) scuffed. I called the manager at service and he give me the excuse that there was another S2k with a complaint and that they used my car for testing and comparing purposes. I called the tech and I asked him if he had to test drive my car and he told me no. He asked why, and I explained to him what the manager told me and he told me that that is not common practice and that is wrong and that they should have asked me.

What kind of Bull Crap is this? Has anyone had this done to there car? They had to jack rabbit my car to use up all this gas.

I am fighting to get all the damaged fixed. I have to take the car in on Monday so that the Service Manager can see it. What should I do so that he does not backtrack on his word.

Any advice is appreciated

A guy had the same issue last week where the dealer put a lot of miles on the car. If its just a leak and nothing else than i cant imagine why it would be necessary in any way to drive the car. I would complain and see what happens

Find someone you trust to work on the car. I have had nothing but bad experiences with dealers.

Yes! I understand, but my car is still under warranty for shit like this (water leaks). I trust the honda mechanic because the guy has done work on the side for me at my house and he is the only person that I authorized to work on all my honda's (4 cars) when I take the car for warranty work to the dealer. The tech told me straight up that there is no reason for test driving the car for this type of work.

Well, I just got a call from the Service Manager and he has told me that they will fix the windshield chip and refuel the car full tank. however he is holding off on the bumper until he can see it. He is saying that I may have done the scuff on the bumper. I almost blew a blood vessel when he stated that bull shit.

Okay, I have documentation that hopefully will prove this retard wrong. Since I picked up the car last Friday I have not cleaned it and I have taken pics with dates of the gauge cluster and odometer, the bottom of bumper and brake dust on the wheels. I only live 10 miles away from the dealer. You think this sufficient ammo to defend myself and get the bumper fixed.

Eh, the bottom of the bumper and the windshield may be tough to prove unless you had time stamped photographs before it went in for service...

Well honestly unless you have clear pictures timestamped before the dealership, proving they caused a rock chip is a pretty far fetched thing. I'm not saying I don't believe you because I do, but I doubt the dealer will take that responsibility and without viable proof your claim really couldn't hold legally.

Honestly, I'd be shocked if they took care of it

did you record the mileage on the service request when you dropped the car off? If so there is your proof. I would also point out nothing was fixed and you were without a car and refer to car rental fees.
