That's a shame. Dec. 07 I was washing my wifes vehicle with my yellow lab tied up out front and a neighbors two Pits got out and attacked my dog and it took all I had to fight off the both of them I was fortunate to not get bitten myself. My dog survived with some damage. I now carrry an 800,000 volt stun gun baton every time I walk the dog, if I could carry a 9mm I would and wouldn't hesitate for a moment to use it. I hate those animals.

Sorry about your S.

Pitbulls are no different than a chair. Chairs are wonderful things that can bring comfort and relief, much like any dog. But it is not the chairs fault if the owner decides to use it to beat you to death.

It is unfortunate that people have taken advantage of the extreme loyalty and intelligence of this breed and used to to create weapons. I, and several friends and family members of mine, own or have owned pit-bulls or similar breeds. These animals are amazingly loyal, gentle and intelligent. However, like humans, if you break them down psychologically and train them to be killers, they can be very effective at it. If you buy these dogs from reputable breeders and train them the proper way, they are the best family dogs around. My 110lb male is my 3 yr old neices favorite play companion/pillow/horsie, etc. He plays with my 3lb chihuahua all day long, even putting him in his mouth with nary a problem. If he does accidentally step on my chihuahua, he immediately falls down and exposes his belly, showing his submission/i.e. remorse.

I hate to go off a bit, but when people make blanket statements about "those dogs" it shows little insight or knowledge and is infact dangerous. If these dogs were banned, for example, people would just turn to German Shepherds or Rotweillers or any other number of breeds that have the mass and strength to do serious damage if trained in such a way.

BTW...I am fairly certain that dog has been given steroids. That is extremely abnormal musculature.

If that was my friend's pit, he would have ate the whole fender. Over the course of a summer "spike" literally ate half of his doghouse. Everytime I came over the opening to his house was a little bigger...eventually he had only 2 walls left.
He also liked to hump rolled up carpets.

Kinda funny several people mentioned shooting the dog. In my fathers unit in Vietnam they had a dog named "Buddha" and it actually had 7 purple hearts, all of em from bullet wounds lol. Better be a good shot Wasn't a pit tho, some crazy mix of things. Sheppard was in there.
Wow What a beast. R.I.P Buddah

"Actually, the pit bull is not on steroids, it seems to have myostatin deficiency. It is a mutation that is found in both humans and animals that makes them have larger than average muscles. Unfortunately, if an animal does have myostatin deficiency, they will not live as long because all of their organs are the same size as a normal animals would be and soon their organs will not be able to work with all of that muscle."

Not necessarily the breed, its the training.
whoever wrote that is full of shit, that dog is so juiced up he could play Major League Baseball

I love Pits, but that dog and its cruel owner should both be put down.

I used to think that pit bulls are nice doge but I too got caught up in the media hype and started to wonder.

So are pit bulls responsible for more attacks percentage wise relative to their numbers or is the media just playing up any attack involving a pit?
