Because the taller screens that utilise the factory bracket have a vibration problem. They do not handle the air pressure against them very well so glue on bumpers and other fixes have to be employed to compensate for this and it all becomes a more difficult and messy install than we would like our customers to experience.
Our screens work efficiently and can be installed or removed by anyone (no matter how mechanically disinclined they may be). i.e. Our customers do not have to mess around uneccessarily with splitting and reglueing the factory base just to install it.
Re:the BMW screen fitting the S2000.... it doesn't. The thread starter is wanting to install a screen on a Merc SLK and was wondering if the S2000 screen would fit so I'm giving him some other options to look at.

You did not answer my question if your BMW version is foldable. And if the BMW version is foldable and also taller than the stock OEM Honda version, then why doesn't the BMW version have a problem with vibration? I am assuming your BMW version is not a modified BMW OEM screen.

That "wheel" already exists. Why re-invent it?

I was only aware of Rick's "TALL" version, which requires the OEM base (with all the problems that Muz described). Who else is selling a foldable "TALL" screen that does not require an OEM base?
My point is that a "folding" base alreadys exists. You simply substitute a taller screen. To make another folding design, you would basically be duplicating that OEM base and putting in a taller screen. The difference is insignificant but the development for a marketer (like Muz) would be unreasonably high.
Muz, why don't you tell us why you didn't come up with a folding design of your own.

It looks like it is foldable.

Nope, I don't believe that one is foldable. It looks like the standard Muz windscreen with a right angle fixed base and two knobbed screws going into that top hatch.
Being in Australia and having a regular job, Muz probably doesn't read the forum at the same time as most of us and he won't answer if the topic has been dealt with adequately by the time he does see it. He usually is quite good about responding to PMs should you have questions for him in future.

Thanks, xviper. We could have avoided all this discussion if Muz had answered my original question ("Looks like the BMW version is foldable...").

As xviper has rightly pointed out the BMW screen is not foldable. That's why no vibration problem.
