Hi,

I'm thinking about the best place for
installing the CD changer. Have seen a lot
of ideas for installing better speakers. But
I have never seen a good place the changer.
I don't like the standard place in the boot.
Is there enough room next to the spare tyre?

I've been thinking about that option too. At
least it saves some weight too! Do you have
an emergency spray can for 'repairing' a
puncture instead?

Yes, i haven't used it yet, but I used it in the past for my motorcycle and it works.

What's wrong with the factory mount? Looks OK with the cover. The metal cage is rather nice too. I don't know if you can buy these pieces seperately from the factory changer.

I installed a Kenwood changer since I took that pic. Put it in the same place.

Well, I think it's quite vulnerable when
the changer is mounted like this. I presume
you don't have any bad experience with
this setup?

IMO it's not vunerable at all. It's a sturdy unit that you should have no problems with unless you are really abusing it.

My garage suggested putting in a changer in the wall to the left of the spare tire. As this required drilling out a large area, I decided not to tamper with what might be structural material. Probably isn't, but I still don't like the idea of knocking out a large bit of metal.

Front load CD player is not part of the Spanish specs, so can't even be ordered with the car! Drag! Still, I never even put the radio on. Thought it sucked first time I tried it, and it doesn't match up to the music of the motor! I listen to music when I get home.

No room in the trunk for a openly mounted CD changer if one wishes to squeeze in a suitcase & a trombone case, as I must.

By the way, I made the dealer come to my house with an S2000 to make sure it could come up the drive (large dip which the front end clears by only about 1 cm!), and that the 'bone case would fit in the trunk, before I bought the car. :>

You got the dealer to come to your house? That's as unheard of as a doctor coming to your house.
