Default planning on getting a new car.. help

hi all, after being out the car seen for about 6 years, i am planning to get a car again after i sell my bike...
s2k was something i was considering but never owned one 1 thing that concerned me was is it a noisey car inside as the soft top might not give much insulation.
also does it tend to get pretty cold in the winter.
was considering the hard top just but i know those are harder to come across.

All soft top verts are a little more noisy inside but as far as winter goes the heat is great in these cars, and with a loud stereo the road noise isnt an issue

You mention selling a bike? A motorcycle I would guess? Compared to a motorcycle (I have a Yamaha FZ6S) the S2000 is as quiet as a Cadillac! The soft top isn't loud (not wind noise) but you do hear trucks and other vehicles more as they pass you on the freeways. Road noise, not any worse than other sport cars with hard tops. You'll hear more engine sound as you cruise around 4,000 rpms than road noise.

The heater works great and I've never had to turn my heater up past 50% to keep it hot in the car even at temperatures well below freezing.

You have to remember what this car was built for, and what it wasn't built for. It's a sunday driver, even though some of us commute with them. It definitely does have road noise, but it isn't unbearable. It does get cold in the winter, but I had a hardtop on mine all winter and it was still freezing. I don't think that makes much of a difference...but others would argue. Remember too that the 2000-2001 years have plastic rear windows which I've heard have a tendency to crack in the cold weather. 2002 and newer years have glass rear windows.

Hardtops are hard to come by but not if you're willing to spend a decent amount. A few years ago I considered selling mine to buy a supercharger, and yes that's how much I would've sold it for. Many people feel that hardtops aren't necessary for this car. The truth is that they are only necessary for certain use...if I'm driving this as my DD then I want a hardtop. Enough said.

hi, yeah i am selling a motorbike, i have a gsxr1000k6

yeah i guess i wouldnt expect any sports car to be quiet, thanks for the personel experiences
i guess the main reason i would look at the hard top is that i would leave the top on more often over here cause there isnt much chances of decent weather conditions, and i was thinking more aerodynamic.

how does the supercharger feel on it btw i was interested in having one fitted in future.

its good to hear that they dont give too much wind noise though, as i have a friend who brought a 2000 model and he thought his was noisey on the highways.

Noise is nothing you can't take care of either, some sound deadener like dynamat will do wonders and won't add that much weight to the car maybe 20-30lbs at most.
