Plans for the Future.

Hi. This is my first time posting, but I've read many posts on S2Ki. I am a 14 year old male and I would like to buy a S2Ki as a 16 year old. What should I do to make sure that I get a S2000?

Thank you.

Save money? Get your parents to buy it for you?

Welcome to s2ki

Mow a lot of yards?

Seriously bro you should consider something else for a first car. This particular RWD car is going to bite you in the ass....HARD. It is one of the last RWD cars I would recommend to someone that was just starting out with RWD for the first time. It's 50/50 balance and suspension setup are extremely unforgiving to not-so experienced drivers.

Even if you somehow come up with the funding to purchase the car you'll never be able to afford the insurance at 16.

dont loose any time and start practise on PS2 and GT4 (steering-wheel necessary of course)

Yeah, start in a different car first. The insurance alone at 16 would kill you. A Miata would be a decent starting point, they are very forgiving cars. Well, with whatever you do keep gaining car knowledge and save save save. Find a job and stick with it.

go with the miata dream instead, there will be plenty around and it is a great car to learn to drive on...then you can graduate to the S2000 when you have some maturity and experience behind the wheel.

the miata is more affordable, there will be plenty around of all condigurations (na,nb,even ms turbos), and you can mod them easily. they are also much more forgiving to drive fast and easier to learn to drive on.

i would also recommend you include a day of high performance driving school to learn car control, did thatwith my wife, then my son, and soon my daughter, making them all (and me) better drivers in any car we end up with. car control is extremely important to learn someplace other than the public streets and it is fun.

the s will come in time...and there are cars not yet introduced that will astound you, if you look at what has come outin the past few years: boxster, ms miata, s2000, slk, mini, new mustang, z3 and 4, mr2,scions,etc...these cars did not exist a few short years ago, what will come will be interesting as well.

Hmmm, I wonder how much this website is worth since you came up with the idea that you wanna buy it?

Make sure you get your permit and license, important steps.
