There is way too much labor involved to replace the plastic window with glass...

Cheaper/easier to just buy a whole new top... and you could install it yourself, but if you're not very mechanical like me, it would take a very long time!

that's what i meant. replace the soft top as listed on hardtopguy's website. but i'm not sure if i need the new structure too or is it just direct replacement with the soft top? and also there was a thread in the library that tells step by step of how to do this and now the library section is gone...

Yeah, I am very interested in replacing this damn plastic thing too.
If I remember well from previous threads on this subject, I think someone said that we have to replace the structure as well.

Please someone confirm this.

You can use your existing spider. You just need to attach some straps to it.

Kinda on the subject but:

I was almost of the mind to just throw the hardtop on forever (negates the whole droptop idea I know but) how tight is the fit???

I am interested in the glass back idea as well does anyone have a rough Idea on price for top and install through honda rep???

People have done the whole hard-top only thing. Mostly racers wanting to loose the weight of the top hardware.

Honda will sell you the top for about $1100, I've checked into it. However, most dealerships won't touch the softop since they are untrained being that the S is their only convertable. Most likely they will send the car to an upholstery shop that does that sort of thing, price I imagine will be in the $500 range, but I'm not sure since I plan on doing mine all by my lonesome.

Hardtop guy will sell the top for the mid $800 range, definately a steal compared to Honda.
